Jane Parker is a non-fiction author turned faerie writer. For a number of years Jane also wrote a weekly newspaper column on animal welfare issues.
Jane is widely travelled and enjoys camping and caravanning, in some of the more remote areas of Australia, with her family and three little dogs.
The faeries came about when Jane realised there was a need to describe the beauty of our natural world in a form that children could relate to. She feels we all need to appreciate, just a little more, the very great beauty of our country and that we should work to protect it for future generations.
Jane previously worked in art galleries, where she formed an appreciation of fine art and is herself, a collector. An abstract silk painter, Jane tries to capture the beauty of the sunset, the subtle colours of the ocean and the fabulous shades of the ancient forests in her work.
Jane is very grateful that some caravan parks welcome everyone, including pets, as this enabled her to write on location. Jane is planning a series of stories and hopes to populate the country with friendly, but useful, faeries.
